The Kiwoom Heroes are awaiting a reunion with veteran infielder Seo Geon-chang, who will be teaching at the Gocheok Dome in the upcoming 2024 season.

Kiwoom has already conveyed to Seo that they want to be together. It's been more than two years since Seo left Kiwoom in a trade with the LG Twins (↔ right-hander Chung Chan-heon) on July 27, 2021. This winter, closer Cho Sang-woo will also return to the team after completing his military service.

This is the 'assemble' signal for the Hero Corps, and the final piece of the puzzle is expected to be Seo Ji-chang.

Kiwoom hopes to reunite with Seo Ji-chang, and Jo Sang-woo will return for the 2024 season

"When I heard the news on the 25th, I immediately contacted Seo Jianchang. I asked him if he would like to finish his career with us."

Kiwoom head coach Ko Hyung-wook said in a recent phone conversation with Sports Chunchu. On Nov. 25, Seo was included in LG's roster cleanup and became an unrestricted free agent. Kiwoom dreams of a reunion with him.

"We haven't had a meeting with the player yet. For now, we have conveyed our team's intentions, and the player himself said, 'Thank you very much for contacting me.' He said, 'This is the first time I've encountered this situation and I'm very confused. I need time to think about it,'" he said.

Seo's presence is expected to be a big boost for Kiwoom's up-and-coming players. Seo has one of the most epic stories in the KBO. Kiwoom also recently acquired veteran Choi Joo-hwan through the second round of the draft.

The addition of Seo Gun-chang to the roster will provide a veteran centerpiece to the rookie-heavy Kiwoom roster. Already, many fans are eager to see if "Professor Seo" can once again don the Kiwoom jersey and stand in the Gocheok Dome.

"I want to give him enough time to think about it," said Ko, who added, "I know how confusing this situation must be for the player, who has to save the team, and we may not be the only ones who want to sign him. He's got a lot on his mind. We will wait."

Meanwhile, Kiwoom has some welcome faces returning this winter. First and foremost, the imminent return of Cho Sang-woo, who led the Hero Corps alongside Seo Gun-chang. After a two-year hiatus as a social service worker, Cho is expected to be released in December. Left-hander Kim Sung-min will also return.

"Both Kim Sung-min and especially Cho Sang-woo have been working hard on their bodies. I think they have prepared well for their return." 온라인카지노

It's been a quiet winter in Kiwoom, and we wonder if there will be any 'comeback' news to break the silence.

Seo was born in 1989, and after graduating from Gwangju First High School in 2008, he joined LG as a developmental player. It wasn't a smooth start. Injuries and military issues forced him to leave the professional scene for a while, and his first-team appearance was limited to one game and one at-bat (2008).

It wasn't until he donned a Nexen (now Kiwoom) jersey in 2012 that he began to write his 'myth'. After joining Nexen, Seo became the team's starting second baseman and was named Rookie of the Year in 127 games with 115 hits, 39 doubles, a batting average of 0.266, a slugging percentage of 0.342, and a on-base percentage of 0.367.

That's not all. In 2014, he was named the regular season MVP as a member of the Nexavengers. In 128 games, Seo hit 201 hits, seven home runs, 67 RBIs, 48 doubles, a batting average of 0.370, a slugging percentage of 0.438, and an on-base percentage of 0.547. In particular, Seo's 200-hit season remains the only one of its kind in the KBO, even in the 144-game format.

After playing 1,067 games in 10 years with Kiwoom, Seo switched uniforms again two years ago. At the time, the team was in desperate need of mound reinforcements due to the complete collapse of its starting lineup. That's when Kiwoom made a trade with LG to bring in starter Jeong Chan-heon.

Since then, Seo has been unable to shake off his struggles and has consistently underperformed at LG. In 189 games over the past three years, he batted just 0.229 with a 0.302 on-base percentage and 0.312 slugging percentage. As a result, Seo was placed on LG's release list on May 25 and is currently looking for a new home.
